Q3: What Kind of media institution might distribute your product and why?

A distributor is the person or company responsible for making the film; they choose how the film should be released: DVD, Download or cinema. The production company on the other hand is in charge of the physical production of the new media, it is also responsible for raising funds for the movie

Lionsgate is the distribution company.

Lionsgate is the distributor we've chosen: the Lions gate ethos is to meet challenges head on whether that is in the fight       against IP theft or the launch of a new title. They have made    movies such as: Gone,Enemies,Escape Plan,Snitch, Now you see me, Alex Cross and sinister. These are all thrillers like our movie and they have around the same age restriction.

Title

The name of our production company is 'Final Cut'. We chose this name because of two reasons: when editing a sequence the final cut that is made is the one that completes the whole sequence that you are working on therefore making it the end, maybe foreshadowing what might happen in our opening sequence. Also because it suits well with the thriller genre therefore showing the audience that this particular production company produces only thrillers which might build up a fan base for it.
Our chosen genre is thriller, our target audience is between the ages of 16 to 25 we decided this was a good age after carrying out our questionnaire and finding out about what people in that age group thought of movie genres most of the participants liked thrillers. The budget for our film was super micro, we spent less than £30 pounds. The production company of our film decided to show case it to only a few people. 'The Unknown' is the title of our film- we thought this would be suitable because it makes the audience question  what the female character is up to and whether or not she will be found out. This also brings in a aspect of suspicion which most people find un-comforting. We have given it a certification rating of 15 because it has some scenes that younger viewers may find scary. Such as the flash backs at the end of the boy laying on the floor plus the colors used in the bed room scene are eerie.

These are the examples from the opening sequence of the scary parts in the opening sequence showing why we rated it 15.
